The Goodyear Blimp was responsible for several viral videos of purported UFOs to come out of New Jersey this week, according to a representative from the company who confirmed with Insider that one of their blimps was in the area when and where the videos were filmed. The blimp was reportedly flown in New York City and northern New Jersey last Monday evening to film aerial footage of the NFL game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The blimp’s passage resulted in widespread interest among those residents who witnessed it, some of whom stopped their cars to get out and take a look at it, while others took videos of the dirigible to post on social media.

Perhaps the most popular was this video from TikTok user .babyyjennii.

Two other videos garnered significant attention on Twitter.

While yet another was shared to Instagram.

Reactions to the videos were mixed, with some viewers recognizing the object as a blimp immediately while others claimed that the explanation only provided a convenient cover story for what they feel was a genuine UFO.

"Of course they are going to tell us it was a blimp or something silly," commented one viewer. "That's the cover-up."

"People out there know what they saw," the viewer added in another comment. "Everybody in America [has seen] blimps before. Nobody [is] stopping and getting out [of their] cars for a damn blimp. They [are] trying to cover it up and of course tell us we are dumb citizens who don't know any better. Please."
