Jefferson County UFO Follow-up

This case seems to have a simple explanation.  I've corresponded with the witness, and we both basically agree that what she saw was most likely the star Sirius.  It's known to be visible this time of year, and it is usually the brightest natural object in the sky.  Our atmosphere has a tendency to give it a flashing, multi-colored look, too, so Sirius is often the culprit in UFO reports this time of year.  Just in case, though, she'll be keeping her eyes skyward; although I'd like to think we should all be doing that regardless.

Yours in Impossibility,

Tobias
