Elf-shot

Elf-shot is described in folklore as a condition whereby its victim is shot with an invisible arrow by an invisible elf.  This most often arises out of some knowing or unknowing slight to the elf, and the resulting affliction is characterized by localized pain, blindness, or paralysis.
